Please read these terms carefully before using our services.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of EDI FREIGHT's courier and logistics services. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions
- "EDI FREIGHT" refers to EDI FREIGHT Ltd and its subsidiaries
- "Customer" refers to any person or entity using our services
- "Shipment" refers to any package, document, or goods transported by us
- "Services" refers to all courier and logistics services we provide
2. Service Agreement
By booking a shipment with EDI FREIGHT, you agree that:
- You are authorized to ship the contents
- The shipment complies with all applicable laws and regulations
- The information provided is accurate and complete
- The shipment does not contain prohibited items
3. Shipping Services
3.1 Pickup and Delivery
We will make reasonable efforts to pick up and deliver shipments within the estimated timeframes. However, delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless explicitly stated for specific premium services.
3.2 Delivery Attempts
We will attempt delivery to the address provided. If delivery is unsuccessful:
- We may leave the package in a safe location
- We may leave a notification card
- We may attempt redelivery on the next business day
- The package may be held at a local facility for collection
3.3 Signature Requirements
For shipments requiring signature, we will obtain proof of delivery. Electronic signatures and photo proof are considered valid proof of delivery.
4. Prohibited Items
You must not ship items that are:
- Illegal or prohibited by law
- Dangerous goods without proper documentation
- Perishable without appropriate packaging
- Listed on our Prohibited Items page
We reserve the right to refuse, return, or dispose of prohibited items at the customer's expense.
5. Packaging Requirements
Customers are responsible for:
- Properly packaging items to withstand normal handling
- Ensuring fragile items are adequately protected
- Clearly labeling packages with sender and recipient details
- Securing all closures and seals
6. Pricing and Payment
6.1 Rates
Shipping rates are calculated based on:
- Package dimensions and weight (actual or volumetric, whichever is greater)
- Origin and destination
- Service type selected
- Additional services requested
6.2 Payment
Payment is due at the time of booking unless you have an approved business account with credit terms. We accept major credit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers.
6.3 Additional Charges
Additional charges may apply for:
- Incorrect weight or dimensions declared
- Address corrections
- Redelivery attempts
- Storage fees
- Customs duties and taxes (international shipments)
7. Liability and Insurance
7.1 Liability Limits
Our liability for loss or damage is limited to:
- The declared value of the shipment, or
- The maximum liability amount for the service level selected
- Whichever is lower
7.2 Exclusions
We are not liable for:
- Delays due to circumstances beyond our control
- Loss or damage due to inadequate packaging
- Consequential or indirect damages
- Items not permitted for shipping
- Acts of God, war, or government actions
7.3 Claims
Claims for loss or damage must be submitted within:
- 7 days of delivery for visible damage
- 21 days of expected delivery for loss or concealed damage
8. International Shipments
For international shipments:
- The customer is responsible for providing accurate customs documentation
- Customs duties and taxes are the responsibility of the recipient unless otherwise arranged
- We are not responsible for delays due to customs clearance
- Items may be subject to inspection by customs authorities
9. Privacy
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellations before pickup: Full refund
- Cancellations after pickup: Subject to handling fees
- Refunds for service failures will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
